In a letter to the architect for the US Capitol, Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida asked why Rep. Kevin McCarthy of California was still occupying the speaker's office after losing three votes, calling him a "Squatter."
The Speaker of the House Office in the Capitol is currently being occupied by Kevin McCarthy.
Kevin McCarthy is not the Speaker of the House. He lost 3 consecutive votes today.

The House Republican majority was unable to elect McCarthy as the speaker on Tuesday after he lost his third consecutive vote. Donalds, of Florida, became part of the group opposing McCarthy.
Gaetz's colleagues criticized him for opposing McCarthy. One of them was Nancy Mace, a South Carolina Republican. She said that the strategy would lead to another Nancy Pelosi elected speaker.
