Trump’s 2024 Triumph: Will the Supreme Court Hold the Key?

In a report published by the left-leaning Huffington Post, it is suggested that former President Donald Trump may need the help of the U.S. Supreme Court to protect his chances of running for president in 2024. Now, normally we wouldn’t give much weight to anything coming from the Huffington Post, but let’s take a look at what they’re saying.

The focus of the article is on the Democrats’ ongoing efforts to use the events of January 6, 2021, as a way to hinder Trump’s political future. We’ve seen how the Democrats have weaponized the criminal justice system against Trump, calling it “election interference.” Now, they’re pushing the idea of using the Fourteenth Amendment to disqualify him from holding office.

According to Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment, anyone who has “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” against the United States is disqualified from holding office. The argument being made by the Democrats is that Trump’s actions on January 6th qualify as an insurrection, and therefore he should be disqualified from running for president again.

While this argument may sound absurd to many, there are real efforts underway to use it against Trump. Election officials in key states are preparing for potential legal challenges to Trump’s candidacy. This is where the U.S. Supreme Court could potentially come into play. If the court is asked to rule on whether the Fourteenth Amendment disqualifies Trump, it will depend on whether they agree with the Democrats’ characterization of January 6th as an insurrection.

However, there is reason to believe that the Supreme Court’s conservative majority may lean in favor of Trump. Legal experts, including well-known liberal Alan Dershowitz, have called the Democrats’ arguments absurd. With three Trump-appointed justices on the court, it is unlikely that they would side with the Democrats and disqualify Trump from running in 2024.

So while the Huffington Post may not be the most reliable source, it’s worth considering the potential influence of the Supreme Court and the biased efforts of the Democrats to control the political landscape. Trump’s chances of running for president again in 2024 may not be as dire as some would like them to be.
