In a fiery speech at the Family Research Council’s Pray Vote Stand summit, former President Donald Trump announced his plan to create a special task force if he is elected in 2024. This task force would be dedicated to investigating people who Trump believes are “political prisoners” and have faced persecution under President Joe Biden’s administration.
With his characteristic confidence, Trump declared, “The moment I win the election, I will appoint a special task force to rapidly review the cases of EVERY political prisoner who has been unjustly persecuted by the Biden administration.” This bold statement drew loud cheers and applause from the crowd of conservative supporters.
Trump also took the opportunity to tout his record of fighting for Christians and his stance against abortion. He highlighted the recent convictions of five anti-abortion activists in Washington, D.C., as an example of what he perceives as injustice under the Biden administration.
“No president has ever fought for Christians as hard as I have,” Trump declared, earning enthusiastic applause. He went on to claim that Democrats are the real radicals when it comes to abortion, emphasizing his own conservative stance on the issue. Trump proudly reminded the audience that it was his three Supreme Court appointments that made the possibility of overturning Roe v. Wade a reality.
In a candid moment, Trump acknowledged that discussing the topic of abortion can be challenging for politicians. “Many politicians who are pro-life do not know how to properly discuss a topic which is so important to the people,” he explained. However, he maintained that this is a critical issue that conservatives can win elections on if communicated effectively.
