1 Million Cubans Flee Socialist “Paradise” – Where’s Biden’s Immigration Policy for Real Refugees?

In a stunning display of how well socialism works, over one million Cubans, translating to a cool one-tenth of the entire population, decided that the Caribbean sun isn’t bright enough to overshadow the oppressive grip of communism. Between 2022 and 2023, these brave souls voted with their feet and left the socialist utopia, proving yet again that if socialism was so great, no one would be trying to escape it.

The circumstances surrounding this mass exodus are as predictable as a three-hour lecture on Marxism—absurdly dismal living conditions, a crumbling economy, and an authoritarian regime that prefers suppression over freedom. Apparently, when you’re paying through the nose for scarce goods and dealing with food rations that would make a college student cry, the allure of freedom outweighs the siren song of “the collective good.” Who could have seen that coming?

This getaway has become such a phenomenon that it begs the question: why isn’t the Biden administration prioritizing this mass migration in their immigration policies? Instead, they seem more concerned about some obscure niche for asylum-seekers, while Cubans are literally paddling their way to freedom. It’s almost as if they don’t care about the plight of oppressed people so long as it doesn’t fit their political narrative.

Meanwhile, American socialists remain hopelessly trying to convince everyone that the failed experiment in Cuba is a shining example of how to run a society. Their dismissal of reality is both entertaining and puzzling. Apparently, buying into the “revolution” means ignoring the fact that millions of people are risking everything just to escape the very policies they idolize.

At this rate, Cuba’s population will be outpacing their pro-socialist advocates in the American left. Each defector highlights the glaring chasm between the idealism of socialism and the gritty reality it imposes. The only thing left to do is watch the next episode in the saga of socialism: will the boat people upgrade to yachts, or will they just settle for a solid inflatable? Either way, it’s clear that while some might still clamor for the “dream” of socialism, others are quite literally taking the plunge into freedom.
