In a recent statement, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov boldly declared that World War Three is already underway. Alongside former CIA chief General David Petraeus, Danilov warned that those who believe the war has not yet begun are making a grave mistake. He emphasized that the conflict goes beyond Ukraine and Russia, stressing the complexity of the geopolitical situation. He even went as far as comparing the current state of Ukraine to London during the Blitz, asserting that negotiating peace with Moscow would be like telling Winston Churchill not to bother Hitler.
Danilov did not mince words when it came to his opinion of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He labeled him a “killer of Ukrainian children” and insisted that there would be no negotiations with him. Danilov called for Putin to be “locked up and remain behind bars.” Furthermore, he expressed that the war in Ukraine will continue for as long as necessary, as the Ukrainian people are determined to fight for their independence.

These strong statements from Ukraine’s security chief are reflective of the heightened tension and ongoing conflict in the region. The situation has drawn comparisons to World War II by former CIA Director General David Petraeus, who noted the impressive defense system implemented by the Russians. Petraeus also expressed his hopes that Ukraine would join the NATO alliance, although it did not happen at the recent summit in Vilnius.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán of Hungary has also added his voice to the conversation, warning that the “3rd world war is knocking at the door.” Orbán believes that President Donald Trump is the only person who can prevent this catastrophe from unfolding.
