We’re constantly reminded of how anti-Semitic and anti-Israel members of Congress are. One of the most prominent individuals who has been criticized for being anti-Semitic is Rashida Tlaib, a member of the House of Representatives from Michigan. On Tuesday, she criticized the Biden administration for not finding a policy that would allow the US to build an embassy in Jerusalem.
I’m outraged that the @StateDept is moving forward with plans to build the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem on land stolen from Palestinians. By doing so, the U.S. is complicit in the illegal confiscation of Palestinian property. @POTUS should reverse this Trump era policy immediately.

In her tweet, Tlaib claimed that the embassy would be built on land that was stolen from the Palestinians. She also called on President Joe Biden to immediately reverse the policy.
The reaction to her tweet was strong. Thousands of people responded to her, showing their outrage over her false claims.
To be clear, an American Congresswoman is *outraged* that the United States is building an embassy in West Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, and without proof, she is claiming that the land was stolen.
It's a lie, designed to incite hate, and she knows she can get away with it.

Can I report her from this information? The land was not stolen from Palestinians.

You’re a terrorist sympathizer. Your outrage is irrelevant.

If only you’d focus on your district as much as you obsess over Israel.

Rashida Tlaib’s anti-Semitic and anti-Israel sentiments were on full display in September when she claimed that she had gotten several fellow Democrats to join her in opposing Israel.
Michigan Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib brags about getting other Democrats to oppose Israel:

Despite her claims, Tlaib was actually wrong. In September of 2021, the House voted 420-9 in support of the Iron Dome. Eight Democrats and a single Republican voted no, and two of her fellow members, including New York’s Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, broke down on the House floor due to her actions.
Rashida Tlaib received backlash from both the Democratic Majority and fellow Democrats for her anti-Semitic and anti-Israel statements. Some of the individuals who criticized her included New York’s Richie Torres and Jerry Nadler.
In her Twitter thread, Tlaib also used the phrase “stolen land” multiple times. One of the other claims she made was that the US would be building an embassy on land that was taken from the Palestinians. Rashid Khalidi, a professor from Columbia University, wrote an article for The New York Times about the issue.

The State Department and Biden have not discussed the issue of the embassy moving. This could be because of the points that were addressed in the guest essay.
“Officials from the State Department have not confirmed the reports about the embassy moving. However, they have stated that it will be in Jerusalem, which is the capital of Israel. A spokesperson for the State Department told The Intercept that the US has not yet decided on a site for the embassy.
The plans for the new embassy, as well as the public statements by Israeli authorities regarding the project, show that the construction of the embassy is proceeding.”
Khalidi also discussed his claims about the land that will be used for the embassy, and he referred to the resolutions of the United Nations, which are often against Israel.
In the last section of the article, Khalidi talked about how Benjamin Netanyahu was returning to power as Israel’s prime minister. He claimed that he was leading a racist government. He also criticized the working relationship between the two administrations of Biden and Netanyahu. Khalidi noted that the United States should not be complicit in the theft of Palestinian land.
Such hysterics are nothing new, and it’s no wonder that Tlaib and other Democrats would share Khalidi’s article.
