Biden Border Policies Fuel Skyrocketing Smuggling Fees

Typical day at America’s borders under Biden’s open-door disaster. It started like any other chase: a Ford F-150 shooting down a dusty dirt road in southeastern Arizona, trying to dodge Border Patrol agents. When the truck was finally abandoned in an orchard, the driver and his cargo scattered like cockroaches. Just another day at the border, right? Wrong.

When agents caught up, they found three Mexican nationals, including Jose Alberto Lopez-Santiago. And what exactly was so surprising? Well, Lopez-Santiago claimed he was being charged a whopping $80,000 to be smuggled into the United States. Smuggling fees like these? They used to be reserved for those hailing from far-off places like China or Vietnam. Now, it’s par for the course, thanks to Biden’s border policies.

Less than 24 hours later, another border chase unfolded. This time, a Toyota Sienna carried 12 individuals crammed like sardines, later identified as illegal immigrants from Mexico and Guatemala. One migrant, Maria Juarez-Lopez, admitted she forked over $50,000 to a coordinator in Agua Prieta, Mexico, to reach San Diego. A mere taste of the current price hikes since the President’s June 4th border “reset.”

And if you think that’s outrageous, wait for this: near Sonoita, Arizona, Border Patrol agents yanked two desperate illegal migrants out of a Chevrolet Malibu trunk in blazing 100-degree heat. One of these individuals, from Guatemala, had paid a staggering 50,000 quetzals, with another 725,000 quetzals due upon arrival in Mississippi. That’s about $100,000 in U.S. dollars.

These egregious costs mirror a twisted marketplace where everyone profits—except, of course, the American taxpayer. Just last week, a Dodge pickup at a Texas checkpoint was hiding two illegal immigrants behind passenger seat upholstery, camouflaged by trash. The driver, previously nabbed for smuggling, was to be paid $1,000 per person. In a similar vein, Border Patrol intercepted a truck loaded with 42 illegal migrants amidst rotting produce. The fee? $20,000 for a run from the border to Houston.

In Biden’s borderland, smuggling has become a high-stakes racket endorsed by his administration’s lax policies. TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Craigslist now flaunt ads for smuggling gigs. With drivers raking in thousands per run, the network grows stronger, and the well-oiled machine of human trafficking hums on, powered by misguided leadership and shady dealings. The Biden administration’s leniency isn’t just policy—it’s an invitation.
