Biden Dodges Future, Clings to Pandemic Past to Taunt Trump

President Joe Biden, on his high horse as usual, just couldn’t resist taking a jab at former President Donald Trump when he was asked a simple question: “ARE YOU BETTER OFF THAN YOU WERE FOUR YEARS AGO?” by Trump on Truth Social. Biden, who has conveniently avoided mentioning the pandemic after the government’s public health emergency ended in May 2023, seized the opportunity to bring it back up at Trump’s invitation. What a shocker, right?

Of course, Biden posted a response on X, complete with a video highlighting the chaos and hardship of the pandemic in March 2020, as though anyone had forgotten. Not content with just this one instance, Biden has been on a roll, mentioning “four years ago” multiple times in campaign events, speeches, and fundraisers. It’s as if he can’t resist taking a trip down memory lane to remind voters of the turbulent early months of the pandemic under Trump.

During a recent fundraising event in Houston, Biden waxed poetic about the overwhelmed hospitals and high unemployment numbers as the country shut down in March 2020. And he didn’t stop there. Oh no, he also reminisced about the run on toilet paper and even brought up Trump’s musings about treatments for COVID-19, including the infamous UV and disinfectant debacle from a White House coronavirus briefing in April 2020.

But that’s not all, folks! Biden has also used these nostalgia trips to attack Trump on various issues, including Obamacare. During a campaign call with former President Barack Obama and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, he just couldn’t resist bringing up Trump’s disinfectant comments from April 2020. And let’s not forget how Biden belittled Trump during a speech in North Carolina, claiming the former president wasn’t about “science and reason.” Classic Biden, always taking the opportunity to kick a man while he’s down.

It’s no surprise that Biden has been trailing Trump in recent polls in swing states and nationally, a complete reversal of four years ago. Maybe instead of focusing on the past, Biden should focus on the present and the future. But we all know that’s not his style.
