Despite the heat, Raskin promptly called for a parliamentary inquiry to ascertain if witnesses were bound by decorum rules, following Bobulinski's accusation of dishonesty. This exchange resembled a verbal game of dodgeball, catching House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer off guard. However, Bobulinski was permitted to continue his testimony unabated.
The drama escalated as Raskin questioned why Jason Galanis, another former associate of Hunter Biden, was allowed to testify remotely while committee members were denied the same option. The proceedings took on the air of a soap opera, with tensions mounting as Goldman attempted to interject, only to be swiftly dismissed by Comer, who moved on to the next witness.
Adding to the spectacle, Hunter Biden was invited to testify but opted out, leaving an empty chair symbolically reserved for him.
