President Biden is playing a desperate game of one-upmanship with former President Donald Trump, all while fumbling over his own words. Joe Biden, who at 81 years old seems to be confusing his vice presidents, mistakenly referred to Kamala Harris as “Vice President Trump” during a post-NATO summit press conference.

It’s almost comical that Biden is trying to tout Harris’ prosecutorial record as a way to contrast Trump, especially when he can’t even keep his own administration straight. Biden’s slip-up is fueling concerns about his cognitive abilities, something that Americans have been worried about for quite some time.
Predictably, Donald Trump wasted no time in calling out Biden’s gaffe. On his social media platform, Trump jabbed at Biden’s blunder, something he has mastered to an art form. The former president’s quick wit and sharp tongue once again drew attention to the looming question of whether Biden is fit to remain in office.
Biden tried to recover by taking to X, attempting to salvage some dignity by pointing out Harris’ former role as a prosecutor versus Trump’s legal troubles. However, given Harris’ controversial record as California’s Attorney General, this hardly seems like a winning strategy.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party is facing increasing pressure from within its own ranks. Some lawmakers are urging Biden to step aside after a lackluster debate performance, arguing that the party should replace him with Harris or another candidate. Yet, Biden remains adamant about running for reelection, claiming he wants to “finish the job” by defeating Trump again. One can only wonder if the real job is keeping his facts straight and not tripping over his own words.
