In a heartwarming display of Thanksgiving tradition, President Joe Biden will be taking part in the annual turkey pardon at the White House. This time-honored event will see the president pardoning two turkeys named Liberty and Bell, who have made the journey all the way from Minnesota to receive their presidential reprieve.
These lucky birds had the opportunity to make their red-carpet debut at the prestigious Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C., before returning to their home state to be cared for by the University of Minnesota’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Natural Resources Sciences. It’s wonderful to see these turkeys finding a safe haven at the hands of our gracious president.
