Barack Obama and Harris continue to campaign under the guise of illuminating the impact of presidential words, arguing that Trump’s rhetoric poses a significant threat to democracy. In reality, it’s more like a case of classic projection—where their own actions and intentions are projected onto Trump, who was actually the one fighting for the silent majority’s interest. The Democrats have no qualms about deploying the unfair tactics of lawfare against Trump, yet they act as though they’re the paragons of democratic values. Apparently, to the left, rules only apply to those outside their bubble.
Trump’s campaign has not taken these remarks lightly. Karoline Leavitt, the Trump campaign’s National Press Secretary, suggested that Biden’s slip provides a glimpse into the darker corners of the Biden-Harris agenda: a systematic effort to silence and dismantle political rivals instead of honoring democratic principles. Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr. slammed the administration for what he perceives as election interference, arguing that the plan has always been not to play by the rules but to knock Trump out of the race by any means necessary.
It’s hardly the first time Biden has opened his mouth and inserted his foot, and past comments have left the White House scrambling to explain away gaffes like allegedly calling for regime change in Russia or labeling Japan’s concerns as “xenophobic.” However, what takes the cake is his repeated insistence that Kamala Harris is his steadfast partner in decision-making, equating her involvement with the multitude of blunders that have plagued his tenure. As the nation deals with soaring inflation, a crisis at the southern border, and conflict overseas, it becomes abundantly clear that their version of leadership feels less like governance and more like a slapstick comedy that’s gone horribly awry.
