The Biden administration has once again cranked the policy wheel of absurdity in a bid to fundamentally alter the most important judicial body in America: the Supreme Court. In a comical display that would make a seasoned magician proud, it appears the marionettes pulling the strings behind the curtain are attempting to execute Operation SCOTUS Shuffle. Meanwhile, the imminent arrival of President Kamala Harris adds a delightful layer of farce to the entire charade.
Biden unveiled his glittering new plan, which was so striking that it could likely be mistaken for a child’s arts and crafts project. The main feature of this “reform” includes limiting Supreme Court justices to 18-year terms and introducing a binding code of conduct, overseen by the same folks who can’t seem to define what a woman is. Another gem from this grand plan is the so-called “No One Is Above the Law” amendment, a catchy name that seems to have been coined at a high school debate club meeting. This amendment would ensure that no former president could hide behind a cloak of immunity. Color the nation unimpressed.
What Biden seems to conveniently overlook is that Congress could, and should, clarify the issue of presidential immunity without dragging the Constitution into the fray. But historical evidence shows that most constitutional amendments get tied up in bureaucratic quicksand—a fitting metaphor for the entire Biden-Harris governance strategy.
The real shocker isn’t just Biden’s attempt at a glow-up for SCOTUS, but the fact that Kamala Harris rushed to endorse this muddled initiative almost instantaneously. It’s as if Harris has donned her cape, ready to ride in and save the day—just not until after the upcoming election season. One must ask if Biden is simply the mouthpiece for Harris’s ambitions now, given the apparent disconnect between his proposals and his past positions. It seems the power dynamic has morphed from the President to the Vice President rather seamlessly.

Biden’s antics have revealed a startling truth: he’s not really the one calling the shots anymore. Instead, the Democratic circus is being orchestrated by a duo that resembles a comedy act more than a leadership team. An orderly transfer of power, once a norm in presidential transitions, should have been employed here, but the political courage required for the 25th Amendment? That must be hiding under a rock somewhere between the White House and Congress.
In summary, while overturning the established order of the Supreme Court may thrill the liberal base momentarily, the reality is that this “reform” is already dead on arrival in the Republican-controlled House. The mature and commonsense swap of DC’s theatre for real governance and accountability is the only remedy to this ongoing political absurdity. Still, the prospect of an actually functioning government remains a far-off fantasy for many.
