An Arizona man tried to snatch an 11-year-old girl while she was minding her own business, just out for a morning stroll on her way to school. But don’t worry, folks – the bad guy got caught, so no need to panic! The man behind this terrifying ordeal is none other than Joseph Leroy Ruiz, a 37-year-old troublemaker with a history of run-ins with the law. But wait, it gets even scarier – the guy has been charged with attempted kidnapping and custodial interference. Yikes!
It all went down at Sunset Elementary School, where the girl, brave and alert, sensed that something fishy was going on. She spotted a shady character loitering around her apartment building and giving her the heebie-jeebies. Quick on her feet, she bolted through her complex, only to have the same sketchy dude pull up beside her in a car and then chase her down the street like some kind of monster! Thank goodness she made it to safety with the help of her friends.

The police eventually got their act together and caught this creep. As if his attempted abduction wasn’t bad enough, Ruiz has a criminal record that includes attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault. Seriously, what is wrong with this guy? How many times does he need to be caught before he gets the message? He clearly needs to be locked up and the key thrown away – for public safety, of course.
The authorities gave the girl a pat on the back for doing the right thing. They praised her for screaming and making a fuss, and for telling grown-ups about the nightmare she narrowly escaped. Kudos to her for being so level-headed in a petrifying situation!
So, folks, be on the lookout and stay vigilant. You never know when a guy like Ruiz might be lurking around, ready to pounce. Keep your eyes peeled, and if you see something, say something.
