Candace Owens Faces Lawsuit Over Accusations Tied to Charlie Kirk’s Death

A lawsuit filed on April 30, 2026, by Brian Harpole — the founder of Integrity Security Solutions and a longtime contractor for Turning Point USA — accuses Candace Owens of repeatedly alleging he conspired in the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The complaint lays out specific posts and podcast segments from December 2025 that it says falsely tied Harpole to a supposed meeting at Fort Huachuca and alleged foreknowledge of the attack.

According to the complaint, Owens published at least eight statements between December 9 and December 28, 2025, promoting an eyewitness account and claiming flight logs and incident reports that purportedly implicated Harpole. The filing accuses her of reckless disregard for the truth and says those repeated public accusations have damaged Harpole’s reputation and business.

Owens responded the only way her audience has come to expect: loudly and defiantly, framing the legal pushback as yet another example of “lawfare” meant to shut down inquiry into a suspicious and tragic event. On her podcast she detailed receiving a cease-and-desist and mocked the idea that lawyers and corporate PR teams can bully independent journalists into silence, arguing she was pursuing uncomfortable answers about Charlie’s death.

Make no mistake — conservatives should back the right to ask hard questions about the powerful and to demand transparency when a prominent conservative leader dies under strange circumstances. But patriotism also demands responsibility; pointing the finger at named individuals without solid, corroborated evidence crosses from whistleblowing into character assassination, and that undermines the movement we all love.

What this fight truly exposes is an ugly dynamic inside our own ranks: when reputations and fundraising are on the line, organizations sweep, spin, and sometimes litigate to protect money and influence rather than truth. Owens rightly calls out the money-and-status incentives at play, and Turning Point USA’s legal response only deepens the suspicion among grassroots conservatives that establishment outfits will weaponize contracts and cease-and-desists to control narratives.

Americans who love liberty should be clear-eyed: we must defend free speech and vigorous investigation, but we must also insist on facts before we accuse someone of murder. Let the courts sort the legal questions; let the press and independent investigators follow the evidence without succumbing to cancel-culture shortcuts or lawfare intimidation. If conservatives want to be taken seriously, we stand for both bold inquiry and the rule of law — and we demand answers about Charlie Kirk’s death without turning our movement into a rumor mill.
