CDC Yields to Reality with COVID Isolation Ease-Up!

Get ready, folks, because the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is about to loosen the reins on COVID-19 isolation guidelines for the first time since 2021, and it’s got liberals and the mainstream media in a tizzy. That’s right, hold onto your hats because the CDC is expected to ease up on the requirement for isolating after testing positive for COVID-19. This new guidance, set to be released in April, will say that you don’t need to squirrel yourself away at home if you’ve been fever-free for 24 hours without medication and your symptoms are getting better.

Now, hold the phone just a minute. The CDC is finally acknowledging what the rest of us in the real world have known for months – the COVID-19 landscape has changed, people. With most of the population having gained immunity from either a prior infection or through vaccination, it’s time for a more practical approach to dealing with COVID-19. But don’t get too excited just yet, the White House still needs to give the green light on these new guidelines. As always, the bureaucrats in Washington are being a bit slow on the uptake.

Let’s be real, folks. These new guidelines won’t apply to every situation, like in hospitals where there are high-risk patients, but at least it’s a step in the right direction. And this change is in line with the way we handle the flu and RSV. It’s about time the CDC caught up with common sense.

This isn’t the first time the CDC has tweaked its COVID-19 isolation guidelines. Before this, the last time they made a change was back in December 2021 when they shortened the quarantine period from 10 days to five. But let’s face it, even then, most people were ignoring that recommendation. And that, my friends, is the reality of the post-pandemic world we’re living in.

So, with California and Oregon already paving the way, it looks like the CDC is finally getting with the program. The spokesperson wouldn’t spill all the beans, but you can bet your bottom dollar that these changes are coming. Up next, the CDC will be telling us that water is wet!
