Kelly’s Alliance for a Better Future is not some left-wing think tank peddling hand-wringing; it’s a newly launched, pro-innovation, pro-family organization built to confront real threats from bad actors and bad policy. Americans should take seriously that this group was created to push practical safeguards so that AI strengthens, rather than replaces, hardworking people.
Conservative leaders and family advocates are already lining up behind Kelly’s message because parents know what unregulated AI has done to their kids’ attention, mental health, and safety. Partnerships with organizations that prioritize children and faith-driven families show this is about protecting the next generation, not scoring woke points in Washington.
Make no mistake: the danger on the horizon isn’t hypothetical. China’s state-directed strategy and track record on intellectual property and mercantile tactics mean the West can’t afford complacency or naïve open-handedness in a race with such existential stakes. If we don’t adopt smart rules and insist on American strength and transparency, we risk ceding the future to a rival that plays by a different — and ruthless — set of rules.
