So, apparently Deadspin tried to take aim at a young Kansas City Chiefs fan for wearing the team colors of black and red as face paint. Can you believe it? They have the nerve to attack a kid for supporting his favorite team! And get this, they even had the audacity to call the poor kid a racist! Can you believe the nerve? But it gets even better, because they also tried to claim that it was offensive to Mexicans or something. Seriously, what in the world were they thinking?
But wait, it gets even more ridiculous. Their last feeble attempt to salvage their narrative was to say, “Well, he’s wearing a headdress, and that’s still offensive to Native Americans.” Talk about reaching for straws! It’s like they were in a desperate scramble to find anything to throw at this poor kid. But guess what? Turns out the kid is actually a part of the Chumash tribe of California! That’s right, he’s Native American himself! You’d think that with that bombshell information, Deadspin would retract the whole piece, right? Wrong. Instead, they updated it with a statement from the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians, condemning the “wearing regalia as part of a costume or participating in any other type of cultural appropriation.”
So, in the end, Deadspin is basically being offended on behalf of others who are also offended. It’s like one big offense-ception! But let’s not forget the most important fact here: the kid wasn’t wearing blackface, Mexicans had nothing to do with this story, and oh, by the way, he’s still a Native American. The whole thing reeks of the kind of sloppy, emotions-driven antics that are all too common among those on the Left.
To make matters even more laughable, Deadspin is desperately trying to bury this mess of a story, but they’re finding out that what goes on the internet, stays on the internet! People are not letting them live this down, and they’re dragging them through the mud on social media. Even Barstool Sports took a jab at Deadspin, pointing out the absurdity of the situation. You’ve got to love when the tables turn on these self-righteous media outlets!
The best part of all this is that the vast majority of Americans seem to be in agreement on this issue. There’s something about protecting a child who’s just showing support for his team and his cultural heritage that unites us like nothing else these days. It’s like a rare moment of unity in these polarized times. Deadspin may have turned off the comments on their hit piece, but that hasn’t stopped the relentless barrage of negativity coming their way. They’re getting roasted to a crisp with every post, and it’s a sight to behold!
