Democratic Circus: Harris Fights for Debate Seat After Trump’s Exit Sparks Outrage

The latest sideshow in the Democratic circus revolves around Trump’s decision to pull out of a debate with Kamala Harris. It’s almost a comical display of desperation from the left as they flail about in their attempts to criticize Trump for doing what any self-respecting candidate would do after watching their opposing nominee get knocked out of the race. The Democrats have been screaming about commitment and honor while conveniently ignoring the fact that their once-illustrious nominee was last seen drowning on stage during a disastrous debate that ended his campaign.

The audacity of Harris claiming she’s “committed” to this debate shows just how out of touch the Democrats are with reality. Trump accepted to debate a candidate who has now been ousted from the party, and the irony is deliciously thick. Imagine trying to hold a debate with someone who doesn’t even exist in the race anymore. The Democratic Party is effectively playing a game of musical chairs, and the music just stopped, leaving Harris to scramble for a seat that’s no longer there.

And it gets richer: Pete Buttigieg, the Transportation Secretary—and apparently, self-appointed debate expert—has been the loudest voice chiding Trump for his decision to walk away. It seems he forgot that showing weakness is clearly the domain of the Democrats, who have seen their own primary nominating process evolve into a dumpster fire. Buttigieg has been firing off rhetoric accusing Trump of cowardice as if he’s ever set foot in a debate ring himself. The irony of a party that can force its nominee out and still call it normal is lost on these folks, but that’s politics for you.

It’s important to note that this “debate” would follow a series of events that painted the Democrats’ candidate as a shade of his former self, a man so thoroughly trounced during the early debates that he was practically suffocated by his own campaign. Trump is under no obligation to engage in a debate against a “do-over” candidate. If anything, he’d be wise to keep his powder dry and save his energy for a more entertaining matchup. After all, if his decision sends the Democrats into a fit, isn’t that a victory in and of itself?

While the Democrats continue to cast themselves as the stalwart defenders of debate decorum, they’ve conveniently overlooked the moral implications of what they’re demanding. Harris and Buttigieg are loudmouthed champions of political correctness, yet take a moment to ponder how the media would react if the roles were reversed. If a Democratic candidate were on the other end of a bullet and then thrust into the spotlight, the GOP would be torn to shreds for any hint of ridicule. It’s a stunning double standard but one that conservatives have come to expect from a party that has built its platform on hypocrisy. As this charade continues, one has to wonder how Americans truly view such antics from a party that can’t seem to get its own house in order.
