CNN’s so-called analysts seem to have mistaken reality for a soap opera, as they fawn over Joe’s planned departure with an absurd mix of theatrics and sentimentality. According to their narratives, Biden’s final address will be nothing short of a heroic gesture, marking the moment when he willingly steps aside for the party’s future leader, Kamala Harris. It’s hard to keep a straight face when imagining the tears flowing like Niagara Falls in response to such a lackluster political legacy.
In a display of startling optimism—or perhaps denial—one CNN contributor predicted an outpouring of emotion from the convention’s attendees. The idea that there would be “Kleenex boxes” at the ready, anticipating a wave of patriotic tears, reeks of desperation. This is the same crowd that has largely turned on Biden, maneuvering their queen’s gambit to ensure Harris is set up for a smoother path to power once the curtains finally drop on Biden. The only tears expected in that hall are from the delegates realizing they backed a president who has left the country in worse shape than when he entered office.

This ludicrous imagery is almost too rich to digest. Anyone who understands the dynamics of a political convention knows that babies aren’t torn between party lines; they’re more concerned about food and naps than they are about a political figure who’s seen better days. As for the crying, it’s far more likely to stem from how low the standards have fallen for leadership in America rather than any genuine affection for Biden’s faltering presidency.
The constant praise from sellers like Bakari distracts from the simple truth: Biden’s time could have been marked by significant achievements had he not spent it pandering to the radical left. The idea that he brings “character” to the table ignores the very individuals who seem to have swapped him out when it became politically expedient. Character is not simply a matter of longevity in politics; it also involves the ability to inspire trust and confidence, a feat Biden has failed in dramatically during his term.
As the Democratic National Convention continues to unfold, the irony of their position can’t be overstated. While the left engages in elaborate myth-making about Biden’s withdrawal as an act of nobility, they remain blissfully unaware of how the actual voter base feels. The party’s internal conflicts and the rising gaze of Kamala Harris present a real cause for concern—not for the Republicans, but for the very party that sold out life-long politicians like Biden when their actions began to reflect more heat than substance. As those on the left cling to their tales of heartfelt goodbyes, reality looms large—a shaking foundation from which to lead comes next.
