Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) put former 2024 opponent Nikki Haley in her place with a reminder about her “pledge” to support the Republican nominee, i.e., the esteemed Donald J. Trump. With Haley throwing in the towel for the Republican presidential nomination and leaving Trump as the only nominee, DeSantis made it clear that Haley’s failure to endorse Trump was not in line with the commitment she made. “I signed the pledge, and you signed the pledge saying that you’re going to not take your ball and go home, and so I honored the pledge, and she’s going to have to make a decision about whether she wants to or not,” DeSantis remarked, unapologetically reminding Haley of her promise.
