Donald J. Trump, the 45th president, filed a defamation lawsuit against CNN on Monday. Injuries totaling $475 million are sought by Trump.
Trump asserted in a post on Truth Social that the formerly esteemed network now serves as a “purveyor of disinformation, defamation and Fake News.”

It is highlighted in the 29-page lawsuit how CNN has a history of attacking the former president. However, it appears that the anger directed towards Trump has grown in recent months due to concerns that the 45th President would seek reelection in 2024.
“As a part of its concerted effort to tilt the political balance to the left, CNN has tried to taint the Plaintiff,” the lawsuit claimed.
The lawsuit listed numerous instances in which the network had slandered the Florida citizen. Some of these instances include equating Trump with Hitler, calling him a "racist," and referring to his assertion that the 2020 election was rigged as "Trump's big lie."
