The regime in Tehran is openly menacing the West, threatening strikes that could pull the world into a wider war — and Europe’s complacency is the opening they need. European law-enforcement agencies are already warning of an elevated terrorism threat linked to the Iran conflict, underlining that this is not distant bluster but an active, transnational danger.
Across the continent, Iran-linked groups and proxies have stepped up attacks on Jewish communities, Western institutions, and critical infrastructure, with multiple bomb plots and arson attacks reported and some successfully foiled. This pattern looks less like spontaneous violence and more like a deliberate campaign to export Tehran’s terror into supposed safe havens, putting ordinary Europeans and American interests on the front lines. The warnings are real and the rhetoric of appeasers won’t protect anyone.
Worse, Tehran is not limited to proxies; its growing missile and strike capabilities mean it can project power well beyond the Middle East, with analysts warning Iran can now reach large parts of Europe and has tested long-range launches. That capability elevates the threat from terrorism to state-level strikes that could target NATO logistics hubs, ports, and energy infrastructure — the soft underbelly Europe relies on to feed its people and economies. Pretending the regime lacks the reach to do real damage is a dangerous luxury.
Some European capitals have finally woken up — the EU moved to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization and intelligence services have disrupted plots — but these measures arrived late and remain insufficient compared with what effective deterrence requires. Brussels and other international institutions love committees and moralizing statements, yet committees do not stop missiles or dismantle clandestine terror networks. If Europe won’t defend itself decisively, America must lead with clarity and purpose.
At home, our leaders should drop the equivocation and treat Tehran for what it is: a regime that exports terror, sponsors proxies, and seeks strategic advantage through chaos. That means relentless sanctions, targeted strikes on the infrastructure that enables long-range attacks, expelling hostile intelligence operatives, and making crystal clear that any strike on Europe or U.S. personnel will be met with overwhelming response. Weakness invites war; strength preserves peace, and Washington must choose strength now.
Hardworking Americans and our European friends deserve leaders who will defend them, not lecture them, and it’s time to demand courage from Washington and our allies. Stand with Israel, back our troops, secure our borders, and pressure policymakers until Tehran understands that aggression will be fatal to its ambitions.
