It’s downright scandalous, folks! The situation down at the Texas-Mexico border has gone plum crazy, and it’s all thanks to Gov. Greg Abbott. The bold governor ordered the Texas National Guard to put up some sturdy fences around Shelby Park, smack dab next to the Rio Grande. That’s right, he laid down the law and shut out them federal police. Yessir, they’ve been kept on the outside lookin’ in for over 100 days now!
The Biden administration and the Department of Homeland Security have been huffin’ and puffin’, threat after threat, but ain’t nobody made a move yet. They even sent a stern letter to Texas demanding access to the border, but it looks like the Lone Star State ain’t backing down. That’s right, they’re standing firm and saying, “Not on our watch!”

Representative Tony Gonzales from Texas chimed in, too. He said the Border Patrol folks stationed in Eagle Pass ain’t got no access to Shelby Park. They can only use a measly boat ramp to get near the river. The nerve of it all! It’s like a game of keep-away, but with the border at stake.
And get this, y’all: The Supreme Court ruled that Border Patrol can snip away at the wire, but it don’t mean Texas has to tear down its fence and let ’em in. It’s like a cowboy standoff, but instead of shootin’ irons, it’s legal letters and court orders.
To top it off, the Biden administration seems to be tip-toein’ around the whole mess. They won the round at the Supreme Court and decided to take a breather from the tussle. Can you believe it? They’re just sittin’ back and lettin’ the dust settle.
Now, the Texas National Guard’s been busy as a swarm of bees, haulin’ off immigrants to the Border Patrol agents outside the park. And what happens to these folks next? Well, most of ’em get released into the U.S. to wait for court dates. It’s like a never-ending carousel, and it don’t seem like Gov. Abbott’s fence is puttin’ a stop to it.
It’s a real head-scratcher, ain’t it? The feds and Texas are squabblin’ like a pair of alley cats, and meanwhile, these poor Border Patrol agents are caught in the middle of it. It’s enough to make a cowboy throw up his hands in frustration!
