Kamala Harris recently decided to take a deep dive into the political pool and resurface with a big splash, claiming that Donald Trump wanted to run the military like Adolf Hitler’s. This revelation came during an unscheduled appearance where she asserted that Trump’s desire for loyalty threatened the very foundation of the Constitution. According to her, he seeks generals who would not only obey his orders but would do so even when it might mean abandoning their loyalty to the Constitution. The token fear-mongering surrounding Trump’s fitness for office has officially kicked into high gear, no surprise there.
In what can only be described as a bizarre pivot from the previous campaign strategy, Harris has ditched her focus on January 6 and is now spotlighting Trump’s supposed temperament issues as a key theme for her campaign. Perhaps sensing a wave of discontent among undecided voters, she’s throwing a Hail Mary targeting Trump’s alleged desire for a rise in military dictatorship. One can only imagine how voters will react to this dramatic change in tactics, especially when many are still wondering why they should have faith in a vice president who’s managed to make over-promising and under-delivering her signature moves in office.

Attempting to convince the public that Trump will plunge the nation into chaos ignores a critical fact: Trump has actually served as president without throwing the country into the historical abyss she’s warning against.
Meanwhile, the notion that Harris believes she can sway undecided voters through fear rather than tangible solutions is entertaining, to say the least. After all, if she truly believed in her campaign’s message, one might think she’d spend less time smiling with Hollywood elites and more time addressing voters’ everyday concerns like inflation and jobs. So far, nobody was truly clamoring for a Harris political revival centered on attaching Trump’s name to Hitler; shades of desperation are evident in every effort.
The crowning irony in all of this? Many voters are likely to see through the attempts at linking Trump to fascism, especially as he has repeatedly been the target of hostile narratives and outright physical threats. The accusation carries a hint of bitterness and desperation. Trump may be controversial, but any effort to label him as the next coming of Nazi Germany lacks substance and significantly underestimates the intelligence of the American electorate.
Even now, reflecting back, it may just be possible that Harris and her team are realizing they might be in over their heads. With no concrete plans to lift the economic weight being felt across the country, they have resorted to connecting Trump with Hitler to stir the pot of public discontent. But voters are not blind. This odd approach raises more than a few eyebrows, particularly when they might be more interested in solutions than in the sensationalism that Harris is shoveling out during her late-game push.
