In a desperate attempt to resuscitate her fledgling political career, Kla Harris has taken to the streets, or more specifically, to a random gas station in North Carolina. Looking as perplexed as a teenager without their smartphone, she addressed America on the oh-so-pressing issue of rising gas prices. One can almost picture the bewildered onlookers, wondering why in the world Harris showed up at their local pump to bash the President.
Gas prices seem to be Harris’s latest talking point, as she claims that each fill-up is costing Americans an additional $15 due to Trump’s international decisions. What she conveniently fails to mention, however, is how prices soared during her tenure as Vice President alongside Joe Biden. It’s almost as if Harris has contracted a rare form of political amnesia, conveniently forgetting the economic hardships Americans faced under her watch.
It’s laughable that Harris has proclaimed concern for the “working people” while simultaneously lounging in an $8.15 million Malibu mansion. Yes, Harris is relatable to the average American in the same way a goldfish relates to flying. Her recent attempts to paint Trump as a villain in her gas station cameo only highlight her lack of self-awareness. If she genuinely cared about affordability, perhaps she might have considered making substantive changes when she had the chance.
In stark contrast to Harris’s narrative, Trump’s administration came with a clear benefit to the economic lives of many Americans, regardless of the mainstream media’s narrative. Tax cuts, deregulation, and a focus on American energy independence put money back in the wallets of countless citizens. Under this leadership, the nation saw tax relief, job creation, and a surge in energy production that Harris can only dream of claiming for her administration.
The absurdity of Harris’s commentary at the pump underscores a broader problem: the tendency among some politicians to disconnect political rhetoric from everyday lives. While she blames Trump, ignoring other geopolitical developments like the Russia-Ukraine crisis, it presents a stark contrast to a narrative where Trump’s policies aligned with average American needs. For Kla Harris and her defenders, perhaps all that’s left is to hope that viewers are as out of touch with reality as she appears to be. If today’s gas station stunt is any indicator, she might want to invest in a GPS to find her way back to credibility.
