Hodgetwins Video Captures Protesters Ambushing Tennessee GOP

Violence and intimidation outside political events are not “protests” — they’re ambushes. A recent Hodgetwins video captures protesters surrounding Tennessee Republicans outside an event, turning a public gathering into chaos. The footage shows the ugly face of modern political theater: shouting, threats, and a clear aim to scare elected officials and regular citizens from participating in civic life.

What happened — and why it matters

The video shows a crowd of protesters confronting Republican officials and supporters as they try to leave a venue. There’s yelling, pushing, and a lot of chaotic footage that does not look like peaceful assembly. Whether or not the protesters felt justified, the result was the same: normal political engagement was shut down. That’s bad for democracy. People should be able to attend events, meet leaders, and speak their minds without fear of being chased or harassed on the street.

Media double standards and law enforcement failures

We keep hearing about the sanctity of protest when a certain kind of demonstrator is involved. But when mobs target Republicans, suddenly questions about free speech and safety evaporate. Local law enforcement often seems slow to act or content to keep “both sides” calm while the intimidation continues. If the roles were reversed, you can bet the headlines would be louder and prosecutors quicker to move. Selective outrage and selective enforcement only encourage more chaos.

How Republicans should respond

First, don’t hide. Retreat signals victory to the bullies. Hold your events, but do it smart: coordinate with police, use private security when needed, and document everything. Second, demand accountability — press charges when laws are broken and make local leaders explain why they failed to protect citizens. Third, name the behavior for what it is: political intimidation, not vigorous debate. Voters deserve leaders who stand firm and defend the right to peaceable assembly for everyone.

This isn’t about stifling dissent. Civil disagreement is healthy. But ambushing people on sidewalks and turning public events into shouting matches crosses the line. Conservatives must call out the hypocrisy, keep showing up, and make sure the rule of law applies to everyone — no exceptions. If we want a country where ideas win on merit, not muscle, then we have to act like it.
