The head of Israel’s military admitted to an attack that killed seven aid workers this week, but don’t worry, folks, it was just a big “oopsie”! Israel Defense Forces Chief of the General Staff LTG Herzi Halevi said in a video statement posted that the strike was a “grave mistake” that “shouldn’t have happened.” But, you know, accidents happen, right?
According to LTG Herzi Halevi, the strike wasn’t on purpose. It was just a little mix-up, a whoopsie-daisy. At night, during a war, in very complex conditions, mistakes can happen, can’t they? The general said, “Israel is at a war with Hamas, not with the people of Gaza,” before apologizing for the airstrike. Oops! Sorry, not sorry.
“I want to be very clear—the strike was not carried out with the intention of harming WCK aid workers. It was a mistake that followed a misidentification—at night during a war in very complex conditions. It shouldn’t have happened.”

Additionally, the IDF is setting up a “Humanitarian Command Center” to prevent such accidents from happening again in the future. They’re really taking this oopsie seriously. Halevi even promised a more thorough investigation into the incident by an “independent body,” because, you know, even oopsies need to have consequences.
And just to show how much they care, the IDF is working closely with the World Central Kitchen, the organization with which the killed aid workers were affiliated. They even promised to share the investigation’s results with “international relevant organizations” to make sure everyone knows they’re really, really sorry for this big oopsie.
President Joe Biden may be “outraged and heartbroken” by the attack, but let’s not forget that the investigation “must be swift, it must bring accountability, and its findings must be made public.” But hey, LTG Herzi Halevi already promised that, so no need to worry!
In conclusion, accidents happen, folks. Israel didn’t mean to do it, and they’re really, really sorry. But let’s not forget that they’re at war with Hamas, not the people of Gaza. So, it’s fine, right? Oopsies happen, and it’s all part of the big game. #StandWithIsrael #OopsieDaisy
