Every time there’s a shooting, the usual liberal talking heads start parroting their favorite lines about “common sense gun control.” They wring their hands, chase cameras, and demand that law-abiding Americans disarm—all in the name of “safety.” But who ends up paying the price? It’s not the thugs with illegal guns. It’s good people left defenseless—told they should just duck and hope for the best.
Take the recent horror at Old Dominion University. While a gunman tore through a classroom, taking lives and striking terror, there were brave ROTC cadets forced to fight for survival. Were they armed with the tools to defend themselves? Of course not! Gun control policies made sure that campus was a “gun-free zone”—also known as an easy target for criminals. The madman knew he could walk in and fire freely, while the law-abiding had nothing but whatever tools they could scrounge.

Here’s the bitter truth: at that fateful moment, the only answer liberal America had for those young heroes was to fend off a maniac with whatever they had—one cadet literally grabbed a knife and brought it to a gunfight. It’s absolute madness to think college students should have to resort to kitchen utensils or sheer guts against someone armed to kill. Liberals love to shout about “saving lives,” but their rules left those kids vulnerable.
It’s pure hypocrisy. The politicians who shout about banning guns have armed security. Hollywood stars pushing for strict gun laws film their movies surrounded by armed guards. Yet everyday Americans—students, workers, moms, dads—are told to just hide and hope for their lives. That’s the twisted reality of the gun control agenda: the elite get rows of bodyguards, the rest get a knife and a prayer.
How many more need to bleed before this country wakes up? Disarming the innocent doesn’t stop the evil. It only guarantees that evil wins. If you had to face a madman, would you want a butter knife—or your God-given right to defend yourself?
