Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has taken a stand against Squad member Rashida Tlaib, introducing a resolution before the House for her formal censure. And let’s be real, Tlaib totally deserves it. Greene, a Georgia Republican, made it clear that she thinks Tlaib is the definition of anti-Semitism, anti-Americanism, and anti-Israelism. Ouch. Talk about being called out by your colleagues.

The resolution, which would not impact Tlaib’s ability to vote but would note her colleagues’ disapproval of her statements, is set to be voted on next week. Greene is urging both Republicans and Democrats to step up and vote to censure Tlaib. It’s about time we hold members of Congress accountable for their hate-filled rhetoric.
But it doesn’t stop there. The censure also accuses Tlaib of collaborating with an extreme anti-Israel group that allegedly led an insurrection during an unauthorized entrance into a Capitol building. Wow, Tlaib really knows how to make friends, doesn’t she?
And let’s not forget Tlaib’s recent run-in with a Fox Business reporter. Rather than calmly addressing the reporter’s questions about her past statements calling Israel an “apartheid state” and refusing to denounce Hamas’ heinous actions, Tlaib chose to flee and give the reporter a death glare. Real mature, Tlaib.
Even Tlaib’s fellow Democrat, Rep. Jared Moskowitz, agrees that she should be censured. He called out her blame game against Israel for a hospital bombing that was later revealed to be the result of a defective Hamas missile. Moskowitz called her out for dismissing U.S. intelligence and trusting Hamas’s information. It’s downright concerning!
Looks like the Squad isn’t so untouchable after all. Rep. Ilhan Omar has also faced backlash for her bigoted statements. As tensions rise around the Israel-Hamas war, Omar resorted to calling a Fox Business reporter a “crazy lady” and accusing her of wanting Gaza residents dead. Classy move, Omar.
It’s refreshing to see members of Congress like Greene and Moskowitz standing up against the Squad’s hate-filled rhetoric. May their voices be heard loud and clear as we hold these representatives accountable for their harmful and misguided views.
