I could not find a verbatim transcript or recording of Pressley using that exact phrasing, though she has repeatedly leveled sweeping attacks against MAGA and the current Republican movement in recent interviews.
What is verifiable is that Pressley has moved to line up behind Senator Markey in the Massachusetts contest, joining the progressive coalition rallying to protect a long-entrenched liberal incumbent from a center-left challenger. That endorsement — and the high-energy ad spots that now feature her alongside other national Democrats — makes clear the ideological stakes of the primary and why the left wants to nationalize the race.
Pressley’s broader rhetoric leaves little doubt she believes MAGA is a mortal threat to American norms, describing the coalition as “united in their collective harm” and using incendiary language that paints large swaths of her fellow citizens as enemies. Conservatives should call that out for what it is: a dangerous habit of turning political disagreement into moral excommunication, and of substituting grand accusations for concrete policy debates.
Yes, some of the January 6 rioters waved Confederate symbols, a fact the media and Democrats frequently use to smear the entire GOP base. But history-minded conservatives know that equating mainstream Republican voters — millions of patriotic Americans who love the flag and the rule of law — with the 19th-century Confederacy is not only intellectually lazy, it’s a reckless political weapon that will only deepen national fractures.
This endorsement drama in Massachusetts reveals the left’s choice: cling to an aging incumbency defended by identity-laced attacks, or offer fresh conservative alternatives who focus on pocketbook issues and security rather than theatrical denunciations. Ordinary Americans are exhausted by culture-war shrieks; they want safer streets, honest schools, and honest talk about the costs of woke policies, not lectures from elites intent on rewriting every debate as a test of moral purity.
Patriots on the right should respond with firmness and clarity: reject the facile historical comparisons, defend the dignity of all citizens against blanket smears, and rally around a positive, commonsense agenda that restores opportunity and pride in American institutions. If Democrats continue to weaponize history and identity for short-term political gain, the natural consequence will be even more division — and a conservative resurgence grounded in common-sense solutions and respect for the rule of law.
