Sen. Tommy Tuberville finally spoke truth in a way most timid politicians won’t — he told Benny Johnson that New York’s radical mayor, Zohran Mamdani, would one day “do something more stupid” that would land him in handcuffs and even suggested sending him to Guantánamo. Americans are fed up with elected officials who openly sneer at our country and then expect to keep their jobs and their credibility.
Mamdani is not a fringe gadfly; he is the mayor of the nation’s largest city, sworn in on January 1, 2026, and he has used that office to make outrageous demands — even suggesting the federal government arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over an ICC warrant after acknowledging the city itself lacks that authority. New Yorkers deserve a leader who protects citizens and the rule of law, not one who courts international drama and provokes needless divisions.
This is not merely rhetorical posturing — Mamdani’s statements have inflamed tensions across the city and prompted public protests at Gracie Mansion and elsewhere, leaving many residents worried about safety and the administration’s judgment. Conservatives have every right to point out that such rhetoric can endanger communities and undermine the very institutions that keep us safe.
Tuberville’s blunt language may make the media squirm, but Americans who love their country understand the sentiment: there must be consequences when public servants act like they’re above the Constitution. It’s refreshing to hear a senator call out dangerous rhetoric plainly, instead of offering the usual weak-kneed cliches about bipartisanship while cities burn.
If Mamdani truly believes lawlessness and grandstanding are acceptable, then federal scrutiny and lawful remedies should follow — from investigations into abuses of power to withholding funds when municipal governance fails taxpayers. Republicans in Congress have already floated tough responses to cities that flirt with radical governance and should be pressed to hold officials accountable through lawful means.
Patriots should take Tuberville’s words as a call to vigilance, not as a license for lawlessness. Fight his battles at the ballot box, demand transparency, and push for real accountability that protects Americans’ safety and liberty. Our nation will not be remade by progressive demagogues while conservatives remain silent — it’s time to stand firm for the country we love.
