The Big Apple’s criminal justice system is in dire need of some common sense, but instead, they have Alvin Bragg. This so-called “woke” prosecutor, who has the backing of George Soros, is more interested in coddling criminals than protecting law-abiding citizens.
Recently, Bragg made headlines by donating a whopping $3 million to the Fortune Society, a nonprofit that focuses on “alternatives to incarceration.” Clearly, his priorities are completely out of whack. While innocent victims cry out for justice, he’s busy lining the pockets of an organization that wants to give criminals a free pass.
Bragg’s latest endeavor is a program called “court navigators,” which aims to reduce recidivism by helping mentally ill or drug-addicted defendants find social services. Sounds all warm and fuzzy, right? Wrong. All this program does is provide excuses for criminals, blaming their unlawful actions on their supposed mental health issues and addiction problems.
It’s no wonder that Bragg has gained a reputation for going easy on criminals. According to Bloomberg, a shocking 70 percent of people arrested in Manhattan last year were either released without conditions or had their cases dismissed. This leniency sends a clear message that the criminal underclass can run amok in the streets without consequence.
The Court Navigators program is just another feather in Bragg’s cap of misguided approaches to tackling crime. Instead of putting criminals behind bars where they belong, he’s focused on enabling them and always finding someone or something else to blame for their behaviors. It’s a never-ending cycle of excuses that only serves to undermine the safety and wellbeing of law-abiding citizens.
In a press release filled with activist jargon, Bragg touts his program as a way to address the “underlying drivers of crime and violence.” But let’s call it what it really is: a complete departure from reality. Crime is not caused by vague societal factors that apparently force criminals to break the law. It’s caused by individuals making conscious choices to disregard the rights and safety of others.

What makes matters even worse is that the Court Navigators program is being funded with money seized from banks accused of violating sanctions on countries like Cuba and Iran. So not only is Bragg soft on crime, but he’s also using tainted money to fund his misguided initiatives. It’s like adding insult to injury.
While Bragg pats himself on the back for his “visionary approach,” the streets of New York City continue to descend into chaos. Just recently, a woman was critically injured when a man pushed her in front of a moving train. These unprovoked attacks on innocent residents are becoming all too common, yet Bragg remains focused on feel-good press releases.
It’s time for a wake-up call, New York. The priorities of Alvin Bragg and his woke agenda are not aligned with the safety and security of law-abiding citizens. It’s time to put an end to this insanity and demand a prosecutor who will actually prioritize the interests of victims and hold criminals accountable for their actions. Trusting the safety of our city to someone like Bragg is nothing short of a joke.
