Special Counsel Drops Last Charges Against Trump Amid Lawfare Concerns

The continuing saga of lawfare against Donald Trump took a turn this week as Special Counsel Jack Smith opted to drop the last remnants of his so-called “zombie charges” against the former president. These charges, which were largely seen as a product of a politically motivated mission by the establishment—think intelligence agencies, the FBI, and their Democrat buddies—were evaporated just in time to coincide with Trump’s campaign for the presidency. One can’t help but wonder if this sudden shift signals the end of the witch hunt or simply a tactical retreat before unleashing more absurdity.

In a world where rewards motivate behavior, failure to hold accountable those perpetuating these baseless attacks will likely result in repeated assaults on anyone who dares take a conservative stance. The targeting of Trump and his supporters needs to stop before it becomes a recurring theme—a veritable cancer spread unchecked through the legal system. There’s an urgent need to dismantle this web of deception spun by lawfare practitioners, if justice means anything at all.

James Brown may have famously crooned about “The Payback,” but what’s really needed is a strict moral reckoning. Those responsible for the relentless onslaught of politically driven legal maneuvers must be held accountable. This isn’t about revenge; it’s about demanding an end to the criminalization of political disagreements and the orchestrated fabrications feeding a ravenous media. Action should be taken against those manipulating the legal system to change election outcomes, erode personal liberties, and bankrupt innocent citizens—all with one agenda in mind: silence dissent.

A rundown of the host of dubious tactics employed by the so-called “Lawfare Incorporated” reveals an ugly truth. The FBI not only entrapped one of Trump’s national security advisers, but they also conspired with various actors within the intelligence community who sought to subvert the electoral process. Lawyers like Marc Elias have also been implicated for conspiring to dismantle election integrity laws across the board. Organizations funded by wealthy leftists have targeted lawyers trying to support Trump, ensuring that after the 2020 election, fewer legal options were available to him and his associates.

There should be a broad inquiry into groups like the notorious 65 Project, which has pursued a smear campaign against attorneys representing Trump in an effort to de-platform and discredit them. John Eastman’s disbarment is just one example of this legal McCarthyism in action. A thorough investigation into the funding behind these attacks, potentially involving heavyweights like George Soros and David Brock, is necessary. Transparency regarding their operations versus political motivations is essential for restoring some degree of integrity to the process.

In the same vein, calls for accountability towards District Attorney Fani Willis of Fulton County, Georgia, are growing. The cloud of impropriety looms large over her office, questioning the legitimacy of actions taken against Trump. Many insist that the entire foundation of these charges against Trump stems not from valid legal arguments, but rather from opportunistic ambitions of prosecutors eager to elevate their political careers. Meanwhile, New York figures like Letitia James and Alvin Bragg, who openly campaigned on targeting Trump, should also face scrutiny. Their hurtful tactics at a state level reflect a larger, insidious trend manipulating the legal system for personal gain—an act that should not go unchecked if the rule of law is to mean anything in America today.
