Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, a true defender of justice and the Constitution, has bravely stepped forward to expose the twisted bias and outrageous behavior of Judge Arthur Engoron during the trial of former President Donald J. Trump. In a formal ethics complaint, Stefanik rightfully called out Engoron for his clear display of judicial intemperance and extreme bias against Trump and the Trump Organization.

It is truly concerning to witness a judge who is supposed to uphold the principles of fairness and due process stoop to such levels of partisanship. Stefanik, being the courageous and principled leader that she is, voiced her serious concerns about Engoron’s inappropriate behavior and expressed the need to hold him accountable for his actions.
What makes this case even more alarming is the potential politicization of the judicial system to sway the outcome of an election. As Stefanik pointed out, Donald J. Trump is a leading candidate for President of the United States, and it is unacceptable for a judge to let their personal biases interfere with the integrity of the trial.
Stefanik provided several examples of Engoron’s blatant bias, including his derogatory comment about President Trump and his unprofessional behavior of posing for the cameras at the start of the trial. Additionally, Engoron ignored an appellate ruling against him and entered a summary judgment even before the trial began, disregarding the need for witnesses and cross-examination. This is a complete disregard for the principles of justice and fairness.
But it doesn’t end there. Stefanik also exposed the fact that Engoron and his staff members have clear partisan affiliations, which violates the New York Rules of Judicial Conduct. The judge’s principal law clerk, Allison Greenfield, has made significant political contributions to Democrat candidates and causes, exceeding the limit set by the rules. This raises serious questions about the impartiality and integrity of Judge Engoron and his staff.
To make matters worse, when Trump’s legal team pointed out these violations, Engoron responded by issuing an illegal gag order and imposing hefty fines on the former President. This is a clear abuse of power and an attempt to silence those who dare to expose his biased behavior.
Congresswoman Stefanik rightly highlighted that this case goes beyond just President Donald J. Trump. It is a matter of protecting the rights and livelihoods of all New Yorkers. If Engoron can flagrantly ignore due process and fairness for a former President and a leading candidate, what will stop him from doing the same to everyday citizens?
The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct must take immediate action to address this grave misconduct and restore faith in the judicial system. We cannot allow judges like Engoron to continue trampling on the Constitution and using their power to punish individuals based on their political beliefs.
Kudos to Congresswoman Elise Stefanik for fearlessly speaking out against this corrupt judicial behavior. Her relentless pursuit of justice is a shining example of principled leadership and her dedication to upholding the values that make America great. Let us hope that her voice is heard, and that the eroding trust in our judicial system can be repaired.
