Joe Biden’s approval rating has hit a new low, making it the second worst of any president in recent history. Ouch! But here’s something that might make Biden feel a little better, the Supreme Court is also suffering in the polls. According to a survey conducted by Pew Research, only 44% of Americans have a favorable impression of the Court. That’s a major drop from just three years ago when a whopping 70% saw the institution in a positive light. Yikes!
But who exactly is to blame for this decline? Well, according to Pew, Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents are the ones driving the negative opinions. Only 24% of them express positive feelings towards the Court, while a whopping 75% view it unfavorably. Talk about a party divided! And if that wasn’t enough, 34% of them even say they have “very” unfavorable feelings towards it. Ouch!
But the partisanship doesn’t stop there. When it comes to race, the breakdown is even more noticeable. Only 17% of white Democrats see the Court favorably, compared to 26% of black Democrats and 38% of Hispanic Democrats. On the other hand, a strong 68% of Republicans have a favorable opinion of the Court. It seems like Democrats just can’t catch a break!

And in true partisan fashion, there’s also a divide over whether the Court has too much power. While 60% of Democrats think it does, only 40% of Republicans agree. It’s like they can’t even agree on anything anymore!
But let’s not forget the recent attempt by Senate Democrats to impose new ethics rules on Supreme Court justices. They were all up in arms after a report claimed Justice Clarence Thomas took expensive trips with a conservative mega-donor. But hold on a second, where was the outrage when the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg accepted a $1 million award that she then donated to an organization of her choosing? Double standards much?
So there you have it folks, Biden’s approval rating might be in the dumps, but at least he’s not alone. The Supreme Court is feeling the heat too. It just goes to show that when it comes to politics, nobody’s safe from the wrath of the American people. It’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it!
