Controversy is brewing in the world of entertainment as it appears that beloved pop star Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, are showing their true colors and supporting President Joe Biden. The internet is in an uproar over this revelation, especially now that a new report suggests that Kelce will be involved in the production of a movie that promotes Biden’s green agenda.

The film, titled “My Dead Friend Zoe,” lists Kelce as a producer and is being financed with the help of green energy tax credits. These tax credits were snuck into the 2021 Inflation Reduction Act, a massive bill pushed through by Democrats during the pandemic. You know, because nothing says “economic relief” like pushing a radical green agenda that will strangle American businesses and crush jobs. But I digress.
Starring a star-studded cast including Natalie Morales, Ed Harris, Morgan Freeman, and Sonequa Martin-Green, “My Dead Friend Zoe” tells the story of a Vietnam veteran and his granddaughter, who served in Afghanistan. It’s set to debut at the SXSW Festival in March, where I’m sure it will be hailed as a masterpiece by the liberal elites.
President Biden, of course, couldn’t help but pat himself on the back when the Inflation Reduction Act was passed. He praised its “tax provisions, grant programs, and other funding programs” as transformative benefits for working families, disadvantaged communities, and rural areas. Well, isn’t that just peachy? I’m sure hardworking Americans struggling to make ends meet will be thrilled to know that their tax dollars are going towards funding Hollywood movies instead of being used for things that actually benefit them.
But what’s truly baffling is how the producers of “My Dead Friend Zoe” plan to justify using these taxpayer funds. The film had a modest budget of $10 million, and it seems like they were scraping for every penny they could get. Did Kelce, in his illustrious career as a tight end, encourage his team to take advantage of taxpayer funds to finance their pet project? It wouldn’t surprise me. After all, Hollywood is notorious for its wasteful spending and disregard for fiscal responsibility.
One of the other producers of the film, Ray Maiello, defended the use of taxpayer funds, calling it a way to “de-risk” the film for private investors. In other words, they’re using your hard-earned money as a safety net in case their movie flops. It’s a classic Hollywood move, folks. Take a risky venture and let the taxpayers foot the bill if it fails. It’s a slap in the face to everyday Americans who work hard to support themselves and their families.
And if you thought this was a one-time thing, think again. Kelce and his team are already planning their next project, titled “King Pleasure,” which will also take advantage of the Inflation Reduction Act. Their actions could set a dangerous precedent and lead to a wave of indie films being funded by taxpayer dollars. This isn’t economic development or growth, this is government overreach and the further intertwining of entertainment and politics.
So next time you hear Taylor Swift’s latest hit on the radio, just remember that she and her boyfriend are more than just singers and football players. They’re part of a Hollywood elite that wants to use your money to push their own political agenda. It’s time for Americans to stand up and say enough is enough. Our hard-earned dollars should not be funding Hollywood’s pet projects. Let’s put an end to this taxpayer-funded madness once and for all.
