Former President Donald Trump has once again taken aim at his arch-nemesis, Liz Cheney, with a call for her to be thrown in the slammer, along with the other members of the Jan. 6 Committee. The ongoing battle between Trump and the former Wyoming Rep. has reached new heights, as Cheney has been at the forefront of the investigations into Trump’s election overturning activities, while Trump has been actively working to remove her from her seat in the House of Representatives.
In a recent social media post, the former president shared an article alleging that the Jan. 6 panel had kept critical evidence under wraps by not disclosing testimony from a Secret Service driver who chauffeured Trump on that fateful day. The driver reportedly contradicted the account of former White House staffer Cassidy Hutchinson, who claimed Trump attempted to seize control of the limo and reroute it to the rally at the Ellipse. Trump, quoting the article, went on to declare, “She should go to Jail along with the rest of the Unselect Committee!”

The article, penned by John Solomon on Truth Social, excoriated Cheney for supposedly neglecting to include the Secret Service driver’s testimony in the final report. This has only fueled the fire of condemnation from Trump and his supporters, many of whom view the Jan. 6 Committee as a biased, partisan witch hunt led by Democrats, including Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who has even set his sights on a Senate seat. Cheney has faced immense backlash from pro-Trump Republicans, ultimately leading to her defeat in the reelection campaign against now-Rep. Harriet Hageman.
Since parting ways with her congressional position, Cheney has adamantly and consistently criticized Trump, going as far as to warn that America is careening toward a dictatorship under his potential re-election and branding him as “depraved.” She has even hinted at a potential presidential run in an effort to thwart Trump’s return to the White House.
