Trump Jr. slams Dems: “It’s All Projection!”

As the Republican House majority continues to investigate a variety of topics, prominent Democrats have voiced their disapproval, claiming it is a waste of time and resources. Donald Trump Jr., however, has a different opinion. During his Friday appearance on Rob Schmitt Tonight, Trump Jr. accused the Democrats of “projection”, citing the Clinton Playbook and Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” as evidence.

Trump Jr. specifically targeted Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who has been vocal in his disapproval of the newly created Judiciary and Oversight Committee sub-panels. Trump Jr. noted that Raskin was one of the original election deniers back in 2016, and that the Democrats’ “projection” is nothing new.

The former president’s son also pointed to the Democrats’ reaction to Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s decision to remove Reps. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Adam Schiff from the Intelligence Committee as an example of their hypocrisy. Swalwell was removed due to his reported entanglement with a Chinese spy, while Schiff was ousted for his falsehoods and misrepresentations regarding the Trump-Russia collusion narrative. Trump Jr. argued that the Democrats were outraged at the removal of Swalwell, not because of any higher principle, but because they were caught.

The Republicans have fired back, citing precedent set by former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in the last Congress when she voted to remove Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) from her committee roles due to her alignment with conspiracy theorists and advocacy for violence against fellow legislators, and Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) for posting a controversial video on social media. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) responded to MSNBC host Joy Reid’s question about McCarthy’s decision by saying, “No, if you want to change the rules, then we’ll live by your rules.” Trump Jr. also commented on Reid’s question, saying that it was evidence of the lengths the media and Big Tech will go to protect “traitors”.

Donald Trump Jr. believes that Democrats are guilty of “projection” in their criticism of the Republican House majority’s efforts to investigate various topics. He believes that Democrats are outraged at the removal of Reps. Swalwell and Schiff not out of any higher principle, but because they were caught. Trump Jr. also pointed to precedent set by former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in the last Congress when she voted to remove certain representatives from their committee roles as evidence of this hypocrisy. He also commented on MSNBC host Joy Reid’s question about McCarthy’s decision as evidence of the lengths the media and Big Tech will go to protect “traitors”. Ultimately, Trump Jr. believes that Democrats are simply following their own playbook in their criticism of Republican efforts.
