In the ongoing battle to keep former President Donald Trump from the ballot in 2024, it seems like his opponents just can’t catch a break. On Monday, a federal judge in Rhode Island dismissed a lawsuit aimed at preventing Ocean State voters from choosing Trump as the leading GOP presidential contender in next year’s election. And Trump’s team couldn’t help but celebrate their continued success in court.
Trump remains undefeated against these bogus claims.

Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for the Trump campaign, declared, “President Trump remains undefeated in beating back these spurious claims. The American people have the unassailable right to vote for the candidate of their choosing at the ballot box, something the Democrats and their allies driving these cases clearly disagree with.”
The news was undoubtedly a disappointment for the Republican nuisance candidate behind the lawsuit, but it was an even bigger blow to the Democratic agenda at large. The case involved a Texas lawyer, John Anthony Castro, who is engaged in a quixotic quest for the presidency and attempting to use the court system to achieve it.
U.S. District Judge John J. McConnell, an Obama appointee, handed down the ruling, stating that a 1st Circuit Court of Appeals decision in a New Hampshire case had already determined that Castro lacked legal standing to challenge Trump’s ballot access. In that case, the appeals court concluded that “Castro has failed to show that he was a ‘direct and current competitor’” in the race.
This decision echoes the outcomes of similar cases across the country. Judges in Colorado, Michigan, and Minnesota have all sided against efforts to keep Trump off the ballot in the event he secures the Republican nomination. But the fight isn’t just happening in the courtroom — Trump is also facing numerous civil and criminal cases brought by Democratic opponents in New York, Georgia, Florida, and Washington, D.C.
Ultimately, all of these legal battles are just part of the Democrats’ relentless campaign to keep Trump out of the presidency. They are desperate to prevent the conservative ideas he represents from gaining traction again on the national stage. It’s not that they fear Trump’s policies are wrong; they fear they’re right.
But despite the left’s efforts, Trump’s continued success in court only further solidifies his enduring influence in American politics. And it’s a clear indication that the battle for the future of the country is far from over.
