A House Republican rightly blew the whistle this week and demanded that President Trump move to deport Zohran Mamdani for repeatedly undermining U.S. foreign policy and siding with forces hostile to our allies. Enough is enough — when elected officials act more like ideologues than guardians of the republic, tough action is not only warranted, it is patriotic.
This is not some quaint political spat; President Trump himself has not been shy about pushing back, even threatening to arrest and withhold funds from jurisdictions that shelter those who refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. Americans who care about the rule of law should applaud leaders who finally act like they mean it and stop letting sanctuary politics tie the hands of federal authorities.
Zohran Mamdani is a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Uganda who has embraced radical, anti-law-enforcement positions, including rhetoric about abolishing ICE and shielding individuals from federal immigration actions. That posture is dangerous in a mayor whose job is to protect citizens, not provide cover for lawlessness under the guise of progressive virtue signaling.
Conservative lawmakers aren’t just yelling into the void — Rep. Chip Roy has introduced a bill, nicknamed the MAMDANI Act, that would close legal loopholes and allow the government to deny entry or revoke status for those who advocate for Marxist or Islamist causes. If Democrats want to treat advocacy for hostile ideologies as mere political debate, Republicans must answer with legislation that defends the nation’s security and shared values.
Some on the left will shriek about denaturalization as if it were a thoughtcrime; the law, however, is clear that stripping citizenship requires due process and evidence of fraud or criminality in the naturalization process. Conservatives who want accountability are not asking for summary punishment — we’re demanding that the Justice Department use the tools the law provides to protect the American people.
This moment is a test of conservative resolve. We cannot be timorous while radicals transform city halls into laboratories for policies that endanger national security and reward lawbreakers. Patriots in Congress who stand up and demand action deserve the nation’s thanks, and the president should follow through decisively.
Hardworking Americans watching this circus should remember who is on their side. Vote for leaders who secure the border, uphold the law, and never apologize for putting the safety of citizens ahead of ideologues who would bend our institutions to their will.
