He pointed out that she has been anti-fracking for over a decade and has wavered on various other hot topics, like the infamous “defund the police” agenda. The former president highlighted the apparent absurdity of Harris’s drastic policy reversals, suggesting that her credibility is hanging by a thread and that everyone is in on the joke. It’s hard not to chuckle when reflecting on the fact that a VP whose ideas have changed more often than the weather can still find a stage to argue from.

Yet, against all odds, it was Trump who showcased the talent for staging a mic-drop moment. Even the best-laid plans of the Harris camp couldn’t save her from herself or from the verbal quicksilver that is Trump.

Harris might have hoped for an empowering moment as the only woman on stage, but it was Trump who walked away with the wins.
