That kind of bold, unmistakable language is exactly what a commander-in-chief should use when American commerce and sailors are under threat — talk followed by credible capability deters theocratic bullies.
Within days the White House said it was pausing planned strikes after what it described as “productive conversations,” a tactical delay, not a surrender; prudent diplomacy bought time while keeping pressure on Tehran. Conservatives should recognize that pauses are not appeasement when they occur from a position of strength and when the president makes clear the hammer remains ready.
Washington has shown it can and will strike hard when necessary — American B‑2 bombers were used in previous attacks against Iran’s deeply buried nuclear infrastructure, demonstrating both reach and precision that adversaries must respect.
