Video showing a Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 coming apart inside the cabin after a tire apparently detached right after takeoff is as alarming as it looks. Provincial authorities and reports say a tire tread came off shortly after the flight left Mashhad for Kermanshah. That detached tire reportedly damaged an engine or engine cowling, and the crew declared an emergency and returned to Mashhad. Sepehran Airlines says passengers were transferred to another flight and walked away without injuries.
Why this matters for aviation safety
