Michael Whatley didn’t mince words at the Republican Jewish Coalition summit in Las Vegas, telling Alex Marlow that Roy Cooper is “the worst governor in the history of North Carolina.” His blunt indictment landed where it matters — in front of conservative activists and donors who are tired of empty promises and weak leadership.
Whatley backed up the charge with specifics, hammering Cooper’s record on crime, immigration, and runaway costs that squeeze hardworking families. He’s made soft-on-crime policies the centerpiece of his argument, saying Cooper favored criminals over victims and presided over policies that left communities less safe.
Don’t let the liberal media’s soft coverage fool you: Cooper is a two-term governor with a long public record, and Republicans are right to hold him accountable. Democrats point to selective achievements and try to paint Whatley as a Trump loyalist, but ordinary North Carolinians see the failures in their daily lives — higher costs, crowded emergency rooms, and fewer police on the beat.
This race is about values and safety. Conservatives know you build a society by standing with victims, supporting law enforcement, and cutting bloated spending, not by bowing to political correctness or special interests masquerading as compassion.
At the RJC event Whatley also made clear he’s courting Jewish voters by taking a strong stand with Israel and calling out Cooper for failing to confront campus antisemitism and other threats. That message resonates with patriots who understand that strength abroad and at home go hand in hand.
The policy record the left touts doesn’t erase reality: repeated vetoes, tax-and-spend instincts, and a tolerance for woke priorities that drive up costs and undermine public safety. Whatley rightly points out that North Carolina families deserve a governor — and a senator — who will prioritize their security and pocketbooks over ideological theater.
Patriots across the state should take Whatley’s warning seriously and rally behind a candidate who speaks plainly about the threats to our communities and our values. This is a preview of a broader fight for common-sense governance: stand with those who defend the rule of law, fiscal sanity, and the freedoms that built this country.
