Biden Sets Debate Trap for Trump with CNN as Accomplice

It’s another day, another circus as we gear up for the presidential debates. This time, the spectacle kicks off early and is being held under a set of rules dictated by none other than President Joe Biden’s team. Why the rush and the rigid regulations? Well, part of it may have to do with the fact that former President Donald Trump looks at Biden and sees easy prey. Trump is chomping at the bit to take down a visibly declining Biden, and he figures the sooner, the better.

Yet, accepting these ground rules has its own set of risks, especially when it comes to who’s holding the reins. The first debate will be moderated by CNN, and if you thought walking into enemy territory was a bad idea, try adding in the hosts who are driving this train wreck.

CNN has announced that Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will moderate the debate in Atlanta on June 27. This will be the first live face-off of the 2024 campaign between Trump and Biden. Both candidates have reportedly agreed to the network’s terms, and let’s just say the fine print reads like a liberal manifesto disguised as a debate format.

The debate will be a 90-minute affair with the usual nonsense about commercial breaks and who stands where determined by a coin flip—just the sort of minutiae to distract from the real issues. But here’s where it gets interesting. CNN’s release mentioned that microphones would be muted except for the candidate currently speaking. That’s right—Dictator Biden, oops, I meant President Biden, gets to be heard without any pesky interruptions.

And get this: no props or pre-written notes allowed on stage. Each candidate will be limited to a pen, a pad of paper, and a bottle of water. It might sound like a minor detail, but props can make a world of difference in setting the tone and direction of a debate. So, that’s another way to level the playing field—for Biden’s benefit, of course.

The release also highlighted that there would be no studio audience this time around, a sharp departure from previous debates. Moderators will use all tools at their disposal to enforce timing and ensure a “civilized discussion.” Translation: Anything that tips the scale in Biden’s favor will be used, up to and including muting Trump’s microphone whenever he starts gaining momentum.

Jake Tapper’s bias is no secret, and his reaction to the 2020 election results is still fresh in everyone’s memory. On November 7, 2020, Tapper waxed poetic about the so-called failures of the Trump administration, peppering his monologue with liberal talking points. He sounded like the leader of a giddy resistance movement finally getting rid of the big bad orange man.

So, while Trump prepares for what should be a straightforward debate, he’s actually walking into a minefield. Tapper’s history of partisan ranting and CNN’s blatant bias make it clear this is anything but a fair fight. The establishment media continues to flaunt its disregard for objectivity while demanding respect for it. Classic.

In the end, this debate setup serves only one purpose: to protect Biden from his inevitable verbal stumbles and to stack the deck against Trump. The American people deserve better, but clearly, fairness isn’t CNN’s strong suit.
