President Joe Biden has made a noteworthy nomination by selecting Hampton Dellinger, a former colleague of Hunter Biden at a law firm, to lead the Office of the Special Counsel. This decision comes amid mounting pressure from Congress to scrutinize the Biden administration's handling of an investigation into the president's troubled son. The nomination raises concerns about potential conflicts of interest in Washington.
If confirmed, Dellinger, currently serving as the director of the Justice Department's office of legal policy, will be responsible for overseeing investigations into executive branch corruption and safeguarding federal whistleblowers. The surprising aspect is Dellinger's prior association with Hunter Biden, as both worked at the prestigious law firm Boies Schiller Flexner. It's a classic example of individuals with shared professional backgrounds.
Notably, in 2014, Hunter Biden engaged Boies Schiller Flexner to represent Burisma Holdings, the Ukrainian energy company he sat on the board of. Hampton Dellinger was a part of the Crisis Management and Government Response team at the same law firm during this period. While it remains unclear whether Dellinger directly worked on Burisma matters, their close association at the firm has raised eyebrows.

However, the concerns do not end there. Congress is pushing for a thorough investigation into allegations that the Biden administration retaliated against two IRS whistleblowers who raised concerns about the federal inquiry into Hunter Biden. Senators Chuck Grassley and Jim Jordan, alongside other Republicans, have called on Special Counsel Henry Kerner to examine claims that Justice Department and IRS officials removed the whistleblowers from the Biden investigation as an act of reprisal.
The situation becomes even more intriguing as these courageous whistleblowers have accused Hunter Biden of failing to report substantial income from Burisma Holdings. They assert that the Justice Department ignored their concerns and even resorted to threats against them. Abbe Lowell, Hunter Biden's attorney, is implicated in these threats, as he has expressed the view that the whistleblowers should face prosecution for disclosing Hunter Biden's tax information.
