In the midst of President Biden’s latest attempt to restrict gun sales and intimidate law-abiding citizens, the nation’s gun purchases surged in February, maintaining a robust and unwavering demand for firearms. The FBI revealed that a whopping 2,336,390 background checks were conducted through its National Instant Criminal Background Check System, with an estimated 1,343,478 of those specifically for gun sales, as reported by the industry trade group, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).

To put it into perspective, February marked the 55th consecutive month of gun sales approved by the FBI surpassing a staggering 1 million, and the actual number of sales is likely even higher, considering the FBI count doesn’t encompass all legal avenues for obtaining a firearm. This record-breaking trend was undoubtedly spurred by President Biden’s unwavering efforts to tighten gun control, according to NSSF spokesman Mark Oliva.
Oliva fervently expressed his concerns about the Biden administration’s relentless assault on lawful gun ownership, highlighting the proposed rules that would nearly subject every private firearm seller to acquire a federal firearms license. He also condemned the government’s intrusive tactics, citing instances where the Treasury Department admitted to spying on Americans’ lawful firearm sales and the ATF engaging in smear campaigns against firearm retailers. The NSSF spokesman adamantly declared that Americans vehemently reject such heavy-handed governmental intrusion on their rights and instead choose to exercise their Second Amendment rights by the millions each month.
