Well, well, well, it looks like the good people of California are about to have a lucky escape! Newly appointed California Democratic Sen. Laphonza Butler has just announced that she won’t be seeking election to a full term in 2024. Phew! Talk about dodging a bullet!
Now, I know what you’re thinking. Why would Butler, a loyal Democrat, not want to stick around for another term? Is it because she’s realized just how out of touch her party is with the American people? Or maybe she’s finally seen the light and realized that conservative values are the way to go? Well, unfortunately, it’s not quite that exciting.

You see, Butler has decided to make this move in order to focus on “other opportunities to fight for working families.” Hmm, sounds like a lot of gobbledygook to me. Could it be that she’s just not cut out for the cutthroat world of politics? Or maybe she’s realized that her policies just don’t resonate with the hardworking folks of California?
Whatever the reason, one thing’s for sure: California dodged a big, ol’ bullet. And for that, we should be grateful. Who knows what kind of liberal, big government-loving politician might have taken Butler’s place? But now, we’ll never have to find out. Thank goodness for small miracles, right?
