In a shocking turn of events, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has thrown his weight behind former President Donald Trump, declaring the Republican presidential primary essentially finished. On Sean Hannity’s Fox News show, Cruz couldn’t contain his enthusiasm as he announced his unwavering support for Trump following the former president’s commanding victory at the Iowa caucuses. “I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for President of the United States,” Cruz declared, exuding a level of enthusiasm that could rival a kid in a candy store.
The senator recounted how Trump’s smashing win in Iowa left no doubts about the will of the party’s conservative base. “It was a dominating victory for Donald Trump,” Cruz marveled, emphasizing that the Iowa caucuses have a special place in his heart after his own experience there. Iowa, according to Cruz, is a magical place where democracy is taken seriously, and Trump’s triumph left no room for doubt. “Congratulations to President Trump on that dominating victory,” Cruz cheered, practically doing cartwheels at the thought of the race being all but over.

With Trump holding 51% of the vote and triumphing in 98 out of 99 counties, Cruz was quick to dismiss the competition. Even with Ron DeSantis coming in second and Nikki Haley hot on his heels, Cruz waved them off like pesky flies at a barbecue. “At this point, I believe this race is over,” Cruz proudly proclaimed, as if he were shouting “checkmate” in a high-stakes chess game.
Looking ahead to the general election, Cruz is gearing up to face Democratic Rep. Colin Allred in what is expected to be a tough race. Still, Cruz is not worried, firmly believing that having Trump at the helm of the GOP ticket will give him the boost he needs to triumph in November. “If you are a left-wing Democrat, after Donald Trump, there’s nobody in the country you want to beat more than me,” Cruz boasted, as if challenging his opponents to a game of political tag.
The senator’s cozying up to Trump comes on the heels of another prominent endorsement for the former president, this time from Florida’s own Marco Rubio. And so, with the Republican establishment rallying behind Trump, it seems like the stage is set for a showdown of epic proportions in the upcoming election.
